Cultivate Your Garden
Wow, January is almost over. It's been a very chaotic month for my little family, and I'm just getting around to cleaning up my inbox and thinking about resolutions for 2010. A friend sent me a pretty standard forward of ways to Cultivate Your Garden in 2010, and it contained some gems. I'm not usually this sappy, but sometimes it takes a tough time to put your life in perspective. I think these are some good little nuggets of advice. Indulge me :).
Live with the 3 Es -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy
Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a beggar.
Play more games.
Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
Dream more while you are awake.
Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
Call your family often.
Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
Take a 10 to 30 minute walk daily. And while you walk, smile.
Each day give something good to others.
Forgive everyone for everything.
Try to make at least three people smile each day.
What other people think of you is none of your business.
However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
...and my favorite one today:
Spend time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6.
